1. Architect Machine Learning Capabilities including analytical platforms across public and private clouds. This involved user requirement gathering, tool research, evaluation, architecting, product management, support and validation
2. Onboard various public clouds and use cases for American Express enterprise consumption. This includes validating, researching, architecting, and supporting
3. Assess and Manage various data / analytical environments for Data Scientists across Enterprise and other 3rd parties
4. Create templates, code snippets and cost comparisons of data compression across Hybrid Clouds.
5. Architect Data lake ETL from on premise store to public cloud using various techniques.
6. Evaluate various cloud management, data science platforms, model management, and monitoring tools for both on premise and public cloud
7. Enable Deep Learning Capabilities across enterprise by evaluating, creating and supporting frameworks integrations using GPUs
8. Architect and Manage Data ingestion, validity, and servicing of various internal and external data sources and use cases.
9. Develop strategies and models for use cases such as data management, user on boarding, machine learning utilities using Big Data Technologies and Machine Learning methods.
10. Interact with stake holders and various internal and external teams on use case / project management, resource allocation, documentation, and future directions.
11. Collaborate with Business and Technology leadership and Define the Big Data Platform strategy for the enterprise
12. Partner with Business units, product owners as well as third party partners to identify business problems and develop big data solutions
13. Develop a framework to continuously monitor the performance, efficiency in the Big Data platform and identify/ resolve issues
14. Develop tool/capabilities required to automate and manage the Big Data environment such as data ingestion, data transformation, process automation
15. Leverage Big Data infrastructure/ API tools to develop Proof-of-Concept Capabilities/Solutions in Big Data
16. Work closely with technology, Internal / External compliance, CISO, Privacy and operational risk teams to define and deploy governance processes across Big Data Platforms and develop necessary tools
17. Participate in and drive evolution of American Express Big Data technologies
18. Manage a team of consultants to accomplish above tasks
19. Perform cost-benefit analysis and estimate key metrics measuring the success launch of the applications / use cases

Minimum Qualifications

* Masters or PHD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or statistics.
* More than 2 years of hands-on Experience with Big Data framework such as Hadoop, Hive, Scala, Python
* Practical experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques
* Experience with Public Cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud
* Experience working with Product Owners, Designers and Technology partners in the creation of digital consumer products (e.g. websites and apps).
* Strong oral and written communication skills including creating both detailed reports, and executive presentations in Power Point/similar.
* Comfortable in working with and managing relationships across the enterprise (including negotiation and influencing skills).
* Strategic thinker who has a curious mindset and able to work in a white space environment to improve/transform processes.
* A strong customer first mindset with a pulse on the external landscape including trends and consumer insights.
* Positive attitude, a proactive mindset, and comfort with both agility and working through ambiguity, comfortable challenging the status quo when required.
