This single vacancy is posted in more than one grade level and will be filled based on commensurate education and/or relevant experience. It is written at the lower grade level and expectations increase with the higher grade level.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for moderate-scale security assignments with moderate direction from senior team members. Responsible for security assignments using specifications assigned by senior team members. Develops fundamental understanding of security threats and response measures. Assists in gathering, investigating, and analyzing security requirements, processes, and incidents. Develops and maintains necessary documentation of security systems, response protocols and processes to ensure unified understanding of capabilities. Often involved directly in implementation, support and usage of technical solutions. Examples of functions in this role are: Cyber Incident Responder, Cyber Threat Specialist, Cyber Intel Analyst, Cyber Threat Hunter, Forensic Investigator, Malware Analyst.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Participates in security incidents/projects; directs security assignments. Associated tasks: Assist in coordinating some work assignments of lower level team members within the group. Contributes to the creation of a climate in which people want to do their best. Develop and present security documents and reports clearly, concisely, and effectively. Adjust and translate delivery style to fit the audience. Identifies, clarifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to security problems that involve analysis of inadequate or conflicting data. Formulates questions and seeks clarification before analyzing or applying security measures. Produces status reports with minimal guidance from higher level team members. Maintains an awareness of time constraints for work activities; makes appropriate adjustments when needed. Actively participates in team initiatives and meetings by preparing, making contributions and following through on agreements. This position is part of a team with On call expectations 24x7x365 to respond to cyber threats. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Security Technical Specialist
Education: Bachelors degree in computer science/cyber or related field; Or Associate's degree with two (2) years of IT system administration/help desk work experience; Or high school diploma/GED with four (4) years IT system administration/help desk work experience; Or graduation from an approved cyber security program; alternatively may have non-degree qualifications (such as hands-on demonstrated ability in a technical interview/assessment);

Experience: Two (2) or more years of Information Technology related experience; Or one (1) or more years of cyber related military/government work experience (in addition to any experience identified above).

Education: Bachelors degree in computer science/cyber or related field; Or Associate's degree with two (2) years of IT system administration/help desk work experience; Or high school diploma/GED with four (4) years IT system administration/help desk work experience; Or graduation from an approved cyber security program; alternatively may have non-degree qualifications (such as hands-on demonstrated ability in a technical interview/assessment);

Experience: Four (4) or more years of Information Technology related experience; Or two (2) or more years of cyber related military/government work experience (in addition to any experience identified above).

Additional Preferences for both grade levels above:
Some travel or overtime may be required. Licenses/Certification: Technical Security certifications preferred such as SANS GIAC.
