DESCRIPTION

As part of the AWS EC2 Integrations team you will help us improve the way customers interact with one of the largest cloud computing companies in the world. When customers need secure, reusable compute capacity to run their business they use EC2. Our teams mission is to enable those customers to run workloads easily and efficiently, providing as much flexibility of choice as possible.

As part of this team you will work on a diverse set of projects, collaborating with internal engineering teams, members of the open source community, and others. Most importantly you should have a passion for learning and be excited about exploring different problems. This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We dont like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we dont get paged for the same issue twice.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
