We, the AWS Chatbot team, are a group of engineers and designers who are determined to change the way how customers interact with AWS. Our mission is to enable customers to have a conversation with their AWS resources in places where they work. We are a team of builders working on a brand new AWS service that is built on severless technologies and uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML). BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 4+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Experience in leading consumer app software development
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++ or Python in an Gradle/Git environment
Able to work in a diverse team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Strong and creative problem solving abilities
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
Passion for simplicity and building highly leveraged reusable software platforms, components and APIs
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
1+ years of experience with modern client side web development technologies with at least one of the following: React, Angular, Polymer, Ember, Meteor, or equivalent.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of software development experience with large-scale Internet-facing systems and web technologies.
3+ years of experience in effectively operating a complex system that is highly reliable and scalable.
Practical knowledge of distributed system design, micro-service architecture, using cloud services, serverless technologies, natural language processing, machine learning, and basic data analytics.
Practical knowledge of professional software engineering practices including the full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Strong track record delivering high quality software on time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
5+ years of relevant experience
5+ years of experience in modern web development technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.
Deep experience in modern Javascript frameworks such as React, AngularJS, Redux
Experience translating mockups and prototypes into working applications.
Experience with systems involving web technologies, NLP, ML, big data processing preferred
