We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team in St. Louis, MO or Morristown NJ. The position is responsible for designing and implementing strategic engineering programs, providing ongoing field technical support, and administering centralized operations activities. This position will provide oversite to Chief Engineers at geographically and technically diverse locations while coordinating and working with JLL corporate engineering resources to provide industry best practices, innovations, and ensuring corporate requirements.
Essential Functions
* Lead and support the engineering staff to develop a high performing team
* Support building operations through a highly integrated facilities management and engineering team to assure high infrastructure availability and client satisfaction
* Develop and maintain a strategic plan for the engineering team, in support of JLL and client objectives, with a focus on innovation and best practices and create standard work for all engineering activities
* Ensure consistent maintenance management practices across the accounts portfolio and ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators
* Manage the on-account Chief Engineers and engineering teams in coordination with the Senior Facility Managers. Actively manage direct reports to ensure the account meets or exceeds all contractual KPIs for engineering, the firm earns all incentive fees with those services.
* Oversee implementation and management of the computerized maintenance management systems in accordance with JLL and client expectations.
* Responsible for the implementation and management of JLL Operational Compliance Program (OCP)
* Administer technical skills assessments and technical training program of facility engineering personnel
* Oversee use of consistent maintenance management key performance indicators reporting
* Identify areas of improvement for coordination between Engineering, Facilities, and Projects.
* Fully support all standard operating systems and practices
* Identify risks to client facilities and eliminate downtime.
* Provide or source technical support for Facility Managers, Chief Engineers and their engineering staff.
* Provide sources of training and education for Facility Managers, Chief Engineers and their engineering staff.
* Develop, implement, and maintain (as appropriate) reliability-based maintenance practices incoordinate with the client.
* Support Environmental Health and Safety team in root cause analysis on all incidents or outages and work to reform processes, practices and systems to avoid recurrences.
* Promote team ownership of site spaces.
* Work with Union leadership, where appropriate, to promote professional development and use of Union-sponsored qualification programs.
* Provide direction/information to vendors and facilities staff as required insuring excellent coordination/execution of work within client environment with minimal disruption.
* Conduct all activities with a focus on cost savings and innovation.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in engineering, engineering technology or related field. Direct experience in senior managerial engineering/operations positions may be substituted for degree.
* Experience with GxP/Life Sciences industries is preferred
* 8+ years of relevant experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports with team members, as well as executive level personnel on client side.
* Must have experience overseeing rollout and implementation of programs, processes, audits, and change management.
* Successful candidate must be self-motivated who can work independently or on a team.
* Ability to comply with JLL and client-directed Policies & Procedures
* Experience with Reliability-based maintenance a plus.
* Understanding of six-sigma processes and concepts a plus.
