Job Description

About the UI Software Developer position -

The UI Software Developer role will involve close interaction with the Systems Architect, Development Team Leaders, business team members and other members of the development team and will demand a high level of design and coding to implement and deliver enhancements. There will be ample opportunities to quickly expand on your technical experience, with plenty of business exposure. Every member of the team contributes to a thriving environment of professionals committed to identifying and building the applications that could allow us to increase fuel economy, decrease vehicle maintenance costs and provide more customization options to GM vehicle owners. The CCMS development team develops solutions and maintains functionality for critical Websites and Portals that are both consumer facing as well as supporting the GM dealer and other partners. These portals currently have strong presence across U.S, Canada and Mexico with plans to expand globally.

You should have hands on experience in creating web pages leveraging HTML, CSS, Javascript, Photoshop, Adobe CQ or AEM, JQuery, Angular JS and others. You will use your creative skills to help develop engaging interfaces to match todays desktop and mobile standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience planning, designing and building complex web sites and applications
* Expert experience in HTML 5/CSS 3/SCSS/LESS/Bootstrap/Foundation /Javascript/ JQuery and JQuery U.I
* Expert experience writing object oriented Javascript and DOM manipulation
* Understanding of AJAX, JSON, Angular, AngularJS, Node.js
* Experience in Photoshop, Adobe CQ/AEM, Liferay and others
* Basic understand of Java, JSP and ESP
* Ability to build cross browser liquid and fluid layouts
* Prior experience in interactive, responsive and adaptive design principles
* Experience with any of the following a plus: PHP (Joomla), .net, Perl, Java.
* Ability to work in a team environment to develop and implement design.
* Works collaboratively with stakeholders to understand constraints and expectations.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to guide, facilitate, and/or lead the efforts.
* Independently possesses the ability to diagnose complex situations into manageable parts.
* Experience working in an Agile development methodology
* A bachelors degree in a technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience working on larger development teams
* Previous experience and knowledge of General Motors systems
* Strong conceptual development, wire framing, layout and illustration skills
* Previous experience in development of onboarding and user registration web applications
* Previous experience working in Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe CQ, Adobe CQ5, Day CQ, Day CRX, Day Communique WCM experience
* Experience working in a SAFe development methodology
* A masters degree in a technical discipline
