Citi established its Citi Data Management Policy and Standard (CDMP) to govern and manage data in compliance with regulatory expectations. It sets forth the minimum requirements for the implementation of a consistent and controlled approach to create and use data as a critical corporate asset. The Policy also establishes a Governance Model for Data Management, Governance and Quality across Citi. All Citi employees, contractors, and personnel with responsibility for the ownership, production, and consumption of data must manage data in accordance with the CDMP.
This position is in the US Consumer Bank, supporting its data governance related functions as outlined in the CDMP and managed by the US Consumer Analytics (USCA) team.
Responsibilities
* This individual will serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert with the knowledge of data governance concepts, business impact, data flows, processes, and tools to support the execution of data quality measurement and reporting projects. This will include the entire data quality lifecycle from Critical Data Element (CDE) identification to implementation of data quality controls and monitoring.
* Work closely with business, technology partners, and governance partners to identify data quality requirements and initiate projects to address in-business needs and meet Global Consumer Bank Data Governance data quality requirements.
* Implement Data Quality Monitoring and Measurement for all CDEs with Data Stewards and Technology partners:, help write business and functional requirements, develop technical specification, oversee user acceptance testing and post implementation validation, oversee data profiling, oversee or maintain project templates and track status of CDEs and rules, coordinate and resolve data quality related questions with project partners, and raise risks and issues.
* Assist Data Stewards in identifying best fit for purpose criteria and thresholds for CDEs in compliance with policy and procedures.
* Facilitate, develop, and implement required data quality scorecards and reporting.
* Oversee and lead monthly routines to monitor data quality scorecards in compliance with policy and procedures.
* Assist Data Stewards with root-cause analysis for data defects, and support and promote its resolution.
* Enforce a consistent data strategy, architecture, roadmap, and standard platform documentation.
* Identify and implement process improvement with a focus on efficiency, quality, and user impact.
* Develop and maintain the Data Quality Charter and Operating Procedures documentation as needed, make sure it is in place and adhered to in alignment with Data Maturity Model and Citi Data Management Policy requirements.
* Will serve as a team lead, mentoring junior team members, overseeing team deliverables, and ensuring a consistent set of skills and processes in alignment with the Citi Data Management Policy.
* Collaborate with the Data Governance Office, Chief Data Office (CDO), Consumer Business Operations and Risk Controls (CBORC) and Technology to identify, recommend and/or implement processes and technologies that enhance or support data quality.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Arts or Graduate Degree
* At least 5-8 years' experience in Risk Management, Decision Management, Finance, Operations and/or Collections, Business Intelligence , Technology, Data/Database Management, Customer Analytics and Reporting, Project Management, Operational Risk
* Experience includes active role / participation in one or more data related initiatives such as meta data management, data quality (DQ), data profiling, aligning business processes with data, metrics and reporting, data-related issue management and remediation efforts, developing or supporting standards / policies.
* Functional/domain experience and knowledge of data governance, data quality processes, data management, and data quality measurement
* Project and relationship management experience
* Fundamental understanding of relevant business processes and data segments and process reengineering and process optimization
* Knowledge of data, reporting and analytic functions within a financial services organization.
* Experience with SAS, SQL, Oracle, Unix, and/or Cognos to query and parse data
* Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project
