Senior Information Systems Specialist Panama City, FL

The opportunity:

The Sr Information Systems Specialist provides day-to-day consultation, training, instruction, trouble-shooting, problem-solving to computer users for hardware, software, network and related computer systems and peripheral devices. The position ensures the effective operation of all systems at the mill level. This position involves providing phone and e-mail support and boots on the ground if needed. This position provides Tiers 1-3 support of all difficulties and ensures users receive prompt, courteous and knowledgeable assistance. This position requires the individual to have strong technical skills and the ability to work closely with users on an ongoing basis. This position also plans, initiates, and manages information technology (IT) projects. Serves as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines and standards, and cost targets are met. Leads IT procurement for the facility.

How you will impact WestRock:

* Provide guidance and support on new IT applications and Systems.

* Support and manage the networks and local servers, including up to 15 systems.

For example: IP Cameras and user base.

* Support and manage the Mill security card system.

* Support the Mill and department SharePoint sites.

* Purchase IT equipment to ensure users and infrastructure is not outdated or on faulty equipment.

* IT Budget Development - maintenance renewals, planned purchases, contractors work, general expenses and travel

* Manage IT budget oversee IT expenses and purchases to ensure budget is maintained

* Be able to understand and support the Active Directory and Exchange environment. User account

maintenance within Active Directory including group membership, unlocking accounts, user account creation and deletion and security access.

* Be able to support VoIP phones and have a good understanding of networking and IP Telephony.

* Be able to diagnose and resolve issues with mobile devices, including iPhones, iPads, Androids and Android Tablets.

* Clientserver database application management and troubleshooting.

* Manage Mill's fleet of printers and printer maintenance.

* Assist with auditors and following best practices within IT and all its applications and processes.

* Identify, review, and select vendors and consultants to meet project needs.

* Initiate, review and approve modifications to project plans.

* Monitor and track project milestones and deliverables.

* Negotiate with project stakeholders and suppliers to obtain resources or materials.

* Schedule and facilitate meetings related to information technology projects.

* Assess current, future customer needs, and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods.

* Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.

* Direct or coordinate activities of contracting project personnel.

* Perform risk assessments to develop response strategies.

* Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

What you need to succeed:

* Bachelors in a degree in Information Systems / Computer Science / Engineering or Finance.

* 3-5 years work experience in an IT, Project Management, Finance, Consulting or Engineering capacity.

* Ability to field 24 / 7 on-call rotation in support of mill IT issues.

* Ability to support complex computer systems and applications in a live production environment. Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
