Job Summary:
Maintain responsibility for enterprise distributed monitoring capabilities
Functions with minimal supervision as the Tivoli consultant providing subject matter expertise in the development and enhancement of enterprise system processes and infrastructure automation. Maintains a broad-based vision of systems technology and operational practices within the enterprise. Facilitates the development, configuration and overall enhancement of the enterprise management infrastructure, diagnostic tools, automation and recovery systems. Responds rapidly to unpredictability in the area of client business requirements and continuous change within the IT department. Responsible for the design and quality control of systems software integration
initiatives.
The individual is a specialist who is highly technical, hands-on, and knowledgeable in Linux and AIX operating systems, infrastructure monitoring, alerting, diagnostic and planning methodologies, with specific expertise in Tivoli.
Responsibilities:
* Work with the extended teams to configure monitoring for system infrastructure and OS platforms and databases to support targeted application monitoring goals and objectives.
* Monitoring of the availability and performance of systems at both the infrastructure and application levels
* Perform daily support for any monitoring related queries
* Incident request ticket handling as well as follow-ups on all monitoring aspects
* Event Management processes including managing monitoring applications that monitor infrastructure services and applications in high-availability production environments
* Navigates through ambiguities and flexible to multi-task changing priorities.

Working knowledge of Linux and AIX operating systems, monitoring properties and principles; working knowledge of Tivoli monitoring tools and alerting platforms.
Collaborative skills to interact with other team members and groups are very important. Ability to influence others and gain support for ideas and action plans is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work independently, accepts responsibility, and takes ownership to ensure objectives / goals are being achieved.
Good organizational skills as well as pattern recognitions skills to stay organized and oriented when working on problems or dealing with day to day issues.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with course work in computer science or management information systems preferred or an equivalent combination of education and job-related work experience to equal 4 - 7 years of information services work.
