Stryker is hiring a Senior Program Manager in San Jose, CA.
What you will do:
As Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for delivering Stryker's Endoscopy Divisions flagship projects for use in Operating Rooms around the world. Your products will be a critical element of how we accomplish Strykers mission: Together with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better. You will play a hands-on leadership role, directly leading large project teams to execute on one or more projects. Your role is not limited to Technical Program Management and includes management of the full project. This means understanding the business case for your projects as well as the priorities for our Division so you can make smart decisions and recommendations about tradeoffs and options. To succeed in this role, you should be a leader that people want to follow. You should be a Project Management expert with a successful track record of delivering new products to external customers. You should have excellent stakeholder-management skills. And you should have a clear, demonstrable understanding of business tradeoffs as well as a history of being trusted with critical business decisions. And you should be able to develop others in these same skills.
* Deliver strategically critical new products to market.
* Create/Integrate multiple project plans along with the team.
* Participate in the prototype assembly and/or design of sub- or final assemblies of assigned products.
* Will monitor and control progress of projects to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used and design intent is being followed/achieved.
* Coordinates with other units, vendors and senior managers as needed to ensure specific cost, time and/or regulatory standards are met.
* Manage risks and create/implement mitigation and contingency plans
* Manage and inform stakeholders
* Ensure a positive return on investment
* Lead a cross-functional team and ensure all technical and business requirements are met
What you will need:
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree required in an Engineering or related field.
* 10+ years in engineering and/or project management
Preferred Qualifications:
* Masters in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent preferred.
* Experience at a medical device company
* Successful track record of launching new products to external customers.
* Significant project management experience.
* Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
* Ability to bring together multiple functions (R&D, Marketing, Quality, Operations, etc.) as a cohesive team
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
