The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in Californias Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

Job Purpose:

The ideal candidate possesses technical expertise and an innate passion to build, develop, implement and maintain quality welding methods, operation sequences and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interface with quality in coordinating the release of new products by maintaining welding records and reporting systems for coordination of quality operations. This candidate will play a critical role in creating and refining welding processes in order to improve manufacturing quality, and productivity.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

* Develop, Implement and Maintain Quality Welding Process Specifications along with Procedure Qualification Records.
* Effectively train and qualify welders to the relevant WPS and maintain accurate records for complete traceability.
* Participate in product design reviews and provide DFx recommendations as required.
* Participate in the execution of product design and production design tasks related to welding procedures, standards and welded structures.
* Inspection of the technical plans of welded structures, their repair, verification, according to welding specifications, as agreed with the customer.
* Preparation, publication and documentation of welding technology instructions.
* Take immediate action to eliminate quality discrepancies as soon as they are detected. Primary technical contact with customers that have welding requirements.
* Helping monitoring of welding technology including welding done by various robotic welding systems and robots
* Research, evaluate and present new welding technologies that can improve efficiency.
* Increasing operational reliability, increasing the productivity / efficiency of all welding operations including robotic cells.
* Support the quotation department to provide NRE Tooling estimates along with weld, grind and straighten labor budgets on critical projects.
* Analyze all root causes for all fabrication issues and resolve the same and implement all new process tools according to a required order. Coordinate with technicians and provide support to all teams and maintain the quality of all work processes in systems.

Education & Experience

* B.S. degree or higher preferred in Mechanical Engineering or another related engineering discipline.
* 0 to 1-year engineering experience pertaining to welding and welds in sheet metal and aluminum manufacturing,
* Successful experience in a fast-paced, multitasking environment required.
* Lean Six Sigma quality experience, CAD 3D modeling, and or drawing creation experience a plus.
* Microsoft Office, and/or advanced Excel skills a plus
* Experience meeting face to face with customers and computer literate
* This is an ITAR facility and the applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
