Job Description

Job Summary
This role is primarily responsible for supporting Murphys Forecasting, Budget, and Internal Reporting processes all of which help Murphys Executive Management with strategic portfolio decisions. The ideal candidate will provide analysis relative to ongoing operations, changes to business including various Acquisition & Divestitures, portfolio optimization scenarios, "what if scenarios," capital allocation, and ad-hoc analysis. Key contributions in this role include supporting the monthly Financial Reviews for the CEO and Executive Management, as well as preparation of annual budget presentation for the Board of Directors (BoD).

Responsibilities

* Contributes to the day-to-day processes associated with forecasting, budgeting, internal reporting, and analysis.
* Owns and maintains aspects of the forecasting and budgeting processes as assigned
* Utilizes systems and processes to help simplify, standardize, and automate
* Consistently improves quality and timeliness of deliverables
* Utilizes in-depth business knowledge and understanding to provide timely business intelligence for strategic decision making
* Supports FP&A needs in the Segment / Business Unit
* Performs financial analyses of key business initiatives and strategic objectives
* Collaborates with Business Unit to improve financial analysis and forecasting methodologies
* Builds relationships to develop and enhance collaboration with Segment / Business Unit

Required Skills

* Understanding and ability to apply forecasting, budgeting, and finance techniques
* Exceptional scenario planning, strategic thinking, modeling, and analytical skills
* Excellent project management, communications and problem-solving skills
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with limited information and standardization
* Knowledge of applications, technologies and tools for gathering, reporting, analyzing and forecasting data
* Capacity to operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy, demonstrated by strong planning, organizational, time management and decision-making skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively with the team and other stakeholders to establish strong partnerships and deliver exceptional value

Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, Data Science or related field
* Minimum 3 years experience in FP&A, Accounting, or similar role
* Oil & Gas experience

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

* CPA or CFA certification
* Economics tools experience
* Hyperion Planning experience
