The Senior Quality Engineer role is responsible for leading the design, development, re-use and institutionalization of the enterprise wide technology quality engineering. This position partners with cross functional information technology (IT) and product team disciplines to ensure test processes, practices and standards are executed for a defined scope of projects. The Senior Quality Engineer provides testing specialization expertise which includes right balancing of testing methodologies, procedures and practices unique to commercial off-the-shelf packaged solutions, and in-house developed solutions. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide strategic and tactical direction in the performance of all levels of test within the Enterprise Quality Assurance function.
* Lead test activities in accordance with established policies and standards.
* Drive test deliverables on a project basis being responsive to schedule and quality requirements.
* Design tests with re-use in mind to fast track quality testing of products.
* Partner with the development team in collaboration to deliver testable software.
* Provide hands on technical expertise with test automation frameworks for Selenium.
* Implement test verification (e.g., Technical Reviews) and validation (e.g., Function Test or System Test) practices, standards, metrics, training, and processes.
* Drive product readiness while supporting both technical and business teams.
* Establish fact-based measures of test efficiency, effectiveness and product readiness.
* Partner with client groups to ensure that the testing strategy is understood, in use, test prerequisites are completed and that test outputs are analyzed.
* Model and act in accordance with MGM mission and values.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

* Eight (8) years of experience in technology primarily focused in application development and/or quality assurance testing.
* Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
* Working knowledge of Dev Ops fundamentals, Agile and Scrum methodologies, and the Shift-Left paradigm.

PREFERRED:

* Previous experience working in a similar hospitality setting.
* Previous experience in testing on web based, e-commerce applications, including understanding and knowledge of web services and API level testing.
* Previous experience managing offshore third-party vendors.
* Previous experience with agile-based development or Scrums and working with distributed teams.
* Preferred technical skills/knowledge: SQL skills, Automation, ETL, Data Testing
