Title: Part-Time Student-Mechanical Engineering-Grovetown GA - 70098
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Companys regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
Your Responsibilities
As an assembly manufacturing engineer part time student, you will be responsible for supporting current and new product assembly operations for John Deere Commercial Products. This position will focus on developing and improvement of operator method sheets, part placement accuracy and reporting, and development of factory layout.
* Support the Manufacturing Engineering team in strategic process improvement activities
* Assist Manufacturing Engineering in achieving continuous improvement targets for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency
* Improve assembly sequence of events and operator method sheets using CREO Parametric
* Creation and improvement of factory layouts using AutoCAD
* Support new product launches including operator training, part presentation and tooling verification
What It Takes
* Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in engineering or related field; others may apply
* Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
* Graduation date of 2022 or later
* Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
* Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
* 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
* 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
* Effective multi-tasking and collaboration skills
* Working knowledge of basic assembly tooling and equipment
* A general understanding of manufacturing assembly principles
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
* Experience in AutoCAD Architecture
* Experience using CREO Parametric or other 3D modeling software
* Expert working level of Microsoft Office
What Makes You Stand Out
* SAP or other data management software experience
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
* Working knowledge of tractors and implement functionality
