We are seeking a day shift Laboratory Coordinator responsible for daily operations in the Chemistry and Hematology Labs.

What you will do in this role:

* You will develop monthly staff schedules and assign departmental rotations .
* You will coordinate new employee training.
* You will ensure proper shift orientation occurs and is documented for staff personnel files.
* You will coordinates 6 month and annual competency assessments for staff.
* You will ensure completion and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
* You will monitor staff for attendance/tardiness/missed punches trends and presents disciplinary issues to manager.
* You will privde documented input for staff evaluations and coordinate continuing education activities and schedule staff to assure attendance.
* You will work with all Lab Supervisors and Director to ensure staff function at the highest level of competency.
* You will provide staffing ratio modification recommendations based on workload
* You will serve as technical resource for all staff working in department.
* You will participate in long term instrumentation and testing strategies for department, coordinate projects and performance iprovement activities, regulatory compliance/ eadiness, quality control and daily review of work.
* You will ensures proper inventory management.
* You will ensure compliance with any applicable CAP, AABB, FDA, and JCAHO guidelines and other regulatory agencies as needed.

Qualifications

Must be currently registered as a Medical Technologist by ASCP.

BS in Medical Technology or Baccalaureate degree plus completion of a NAACLS Medical Technology program.

Previous MT experience in the acute care setting is required.

Must possess good computer skills and customer service skills.
