Job Summary:

The Pediatric Respiratory Department provides 24 hour services for the pediatric population in the PICU, Peds ED & Peds Units. A JCAHO and State Licensed Blood Gas Laboratory is fully supported and maintained by the Neonatal & Pediatric Respiratory Department.

* You must demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served as per Scope of Service.
* You will also offer support and assistance to the NICU therapist as needed.
* You role provides education and information to patients and family members to support care.
* Utilizing critical thinking for individual care to meet the needs of patients is core to your role.
* You must document all patient care appropriately.

Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited AMA School of Respiratory Therapy
* Current licensure by Tennessee Board for Respiratory Care
* Current BLS certification (other certifications as required per Provision of Care for area of employment)
* NRP certification required within 6 months of employment
* STABLE certification required within 6 months of employment
* Demonstrated experience with each of the required areas
* Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
