The Dietitian is responsible for teaching and coordinating community nutrition classess, assessing the nutrition needs of patients, and providing appropriate medical nutrition therapy. Develops and implements nutrition care plans and develops and updates education materials. Communicates with patients and families, medical staff, nursing staff, and other health care professionals to assure patient care needs are met.

Qualifications
Education:
*B.S., B.A. or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics.
*The Clinical Dietitian must have completed an internship in a hospital offering dietetic internship approved by the American Dietetic Association or have had equivalent approved experience.
Licensure/Certification:
*Must be licensed to practice in the State of Utah, providing proof of application for licensure to the state of Utah, Division of Professional and Occupational Licensing when certification/licensure is pending.
*Must be registered and maintain appropriate continuing education (CE) credits within a 5 year period as specified by the commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
*Weight management certification preferred.
Experience/Knowledge:
*Prefer a minimum of 2 yrs experience in bariatric nutrition, outpatient nutrition counseling and /or acute care facility.
*Required to have skills and knowledge in the following areas of practice: Bariatrics, Nutrition Support, OB/GYN, Cardiology, General Medicine, Oncology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, and Skilled Nursing Facility needs.
