SHIFT: Evenings (rotating weekends)
SCHEDULE: Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Proficient in obtaining venous and capillary blood specimens on pediatric, adolescent, adults and geriatric patients. Train new personnel and students in phlebotomy techniques. Assists in the answering of the telephone, filing, greeting inpatients and outpatients. Performs paperwork and collects blood for all in-house For Cause urinalysis and blood drug screen analysis on employees. Works the pneumonic tube system when lab assistant is not available. Responds to Code RRT, Blue, Sepsis and Stroke.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Experience in phlebotomy techniques necessary.
* Experience with a laboratory information system recommended.
* Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program or Phlebotomy program may be substituted for experience.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* None required, but nationally recognized certification is preferred
