What youll be able to do:

The Product Development Analyst would work full-time in the 3D Scanning and Metrology Lab. The Analyst is responsible for collecting highly accurate 3D geometry using various measurement technologies and software to support virtual model correlation, vehicle sign-off, dimensional analysis, and scan-CAD development. This is performed with a high-level working knowledge of CAD, manufacturing, and testing processes. The position includes use of the corporate PLM toolset for acquiring reference models and specifications for various measurement projects. The candidate will work with regional and global employees in communicating results with customers, engineering, and management.

* Program and operate CMM and Laser Scanning equipment, use multiple software packages for data acquisition, processing, and transfer
* Operate tools and machinery to fabricate simple and complex fixtures for part / component / assembly scanning and measuring
* Develop workplans for vehicle or components to perform CMM and/or Laser Scanning operations
* Process ELMS requests and determine best use of measurement toolset technology and method of data analysis by evaluating requests, engineering prints, tolerance and GD&T specifications, CAD models and sketches
* Process collected data into requested format and transfer to Corporate CAD databases using CATIA and TeamCenter Engineering
* Train others in the usage of the metrology equipment and data analysis software
* Practice and promote safe working habits and maintain a clean working environment
* Possess and promote a positive attitude and be willing to perform other duties as assigned
* Communicate work-plan and project results to customers and management via digital workplace toolset
* Perform set up and measurement using high-speed cameras and digital image correlation techniques for 3D modeling and motion analysis

The minimum requirements we seek:

* High School Diploma or GED
* 2+ years of experience in PolyWorks, GeoMagic, and point-cloud to surface processing
* 2+ years of experience using optical metrology data collecting devices including but not limited to; CMM, laser trackers, structured light scanners, laser-scanners.
* 1+ years of experience with modeling in CATIA and part authoring in TCe

Our preferred requirements:

* Associates degree
* Experience in use of high-speed DIC technologies, preferred
* Programming with Visual Basic and ability to apply programming skills for macro development in available software (CATIA, PolyWorks, Excel), preferred
* Proficient in GD&T standards for development of measurement plans from CAD PMI and prints
* Demonstrated organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task
* Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
* Proficient in utilizing MS Office (Excel, Word. Outlook)

Ford Motor Company is an American multinational automaker that has its main headquarter in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. It was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. The company sells automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford brand and most luxury cars under the Lincoln brand. Ford introduced methods for large-scale manufacturing of cars and large-scale management of an industrial workforce using elaborately engineered manufacturing sequences typified by moving assembly lines; by 1914, these methods were known around the world as Fordism.
