Your Role and Responsibilities

This program brings leading professionals into residency at IBM Research to make foundational contributions to social justice and drive impact for historically marginalized communities.

The residents will be able to define and advance projects focused on a range of social and civic issues, including health, education, economic development, employment, and criminal justice. Some key areas of focus are promoting fairness and accountability, supporting economic development for underserved communities, and addressing the intersections and dynamics of race, class, gender and offer differences as lenses through which social justice advocacy must be addressed. Residents will benefit from the opportunities to lead research projects and to work side-by-side with IBM scientists to shape the direction of our research programs in this area.

Residents will have access to the latest tools and technologies available and will be able to leverage the breadth of the global IBM Research community to develop new skills, relationships, and collaborations.

The program is 12 24 months in duration.
