OVERVIEW
The Logistics Team Leader will provide logistics leadership to deliver a world-class operation. Team Leaders lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork. The Logistics Team Leader will provide daily supervision of the Cereal warehouse team. The Buffalo Cereal Warehouse consists of 42 forklift production employees across all shifts, a shipping/receiving office, 24 Automated Guided Vehicles and management of the inbound and outbound flow of raw and finished Puff and Chex products.
Buffalo is a multi-platform union facility with over 400 employees leading the safe, high quality production of a wide range of products. The plant supports the Cereal and Convenience and Food Service Operating Units. This Team Leader position will play a critical role in leading a zero loss culture specifically in our Cereal business.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Educate, develop and motivate a material handling work group to achieve results, improving individual technical skills and enabling collaboration across boundaries
Identify, initiate, and lead safety improvement initiatives. Address safety concerns immediately
Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals on a day to day basis--commitment to results
Effectively conduct team meetings to communicate organizational and policy changes
Support raw material and finished goods cycle count program
Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in creative solutions to issues
Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant objectives on a day to day basis
Facilitate, coach, counsel, and guide the work group to ensure that they have the ability to deliver results year over year through the use of continuous improvement tools and strategies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years logistics/manufacturing experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
Mature approach to challenging situations and environments

Flexibility to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
