Position overview
Within General Mills, our manufacturing facilities are committed to achieving zero human and food safety incidents and it is every employee's responsibility to fully support this vision.
The General Mills-Buffalo plant operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Applicants must be willing to work ANY shift and weekends and overtime as needed. Changes in volume and production requirements can result in changes in work schedule and additional overtime. Employees must be willing to work any shift including nights and weekends.
Please note that all new hires are subject to a contractual new hire pay progression (subject to contractual increases, if applicable).
$17.76 for the first 18 months of employment (80% of full rate of pay)
$19.98 for the second 18 months of employment (90% of full rate of pay)
$22.20 after 36 months of employment (100% of full rate of pay)

Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
* Issue parts to maintenance personnel on request in an efficient manner
* Maintain storeroom security
* Issue parts immediately in the Maximo system
* Unpack, sort, arrange and place inventoried items in proper location. Clerk will make sure items are tagged with the proper GMI P/N
* Responsible for reorganization of the storeroom, and the bar coding of all items in the storeroom Each clerk will be assigned a designated area of the storeroom to organize and maintain
* Keep storeroom organized, clean, and safe
* Aid in identification of slow moving, obsolete, and substandard inventory
* Track and communicate inventory shortage situations to the Buyer or Storeroom Manager
* Cycle count "X" amount of items and enter the data into the current inventory system. Investigate significant stock adjustments
* Inventory free-stock items, ex. Conduit, sheet metal, angle iron, etc.
* Handle emergency orders
* Assist the Receiving Clerk
* Attend Plant Wide Communication Meetings and Safety Meetings as required
* Perform other functions for an efficient storeroom operation as assigned by the Storeroom Manager
* Attend meetings and trainings as required
* Perform additional related tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
* High School Diploma or GED
* Proficiency in basic computer skills
* Must be (willing to be) certified in pallet jack operations
* Must be able to lift, move, push, pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis
* Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
* Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends, daily overtime and overtime outside your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week)
* Must be able to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
* Must be able to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stair, ladders, personal lifts, or platforms
* Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required
* Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
* Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
* Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1+ years of experience in a storeroom and/or manufacturing environment
* Demonstrated leadership ability
