Content Policy Associate Manager, Transparency, Data, and Accountability

Job Description

We are committed to enhancing accountability for our content moderation systems through consultation, oversight, and transparency. To support our transparency efforts, Facebook is looking for an analytical thinker with experience at the intersection of public policy and data analytics to join our Content Regulation Team. This member of the team will support Facebooks strategic data initiatives related to content regulation, guiding our transparency reporting efforts, and working closely with our Data Science and Integrity teams to conduct data analysis in support of Facebooks global Public Policy team. Crucially this team member will help to deliver our Community Standards Enforcement Report so that everyone can see how we deal with harmful content (like hate speech) when it appears on our platform. The candidate will also play a key role in helping to evolve the teams approach to data-based decision-making and help develop a long-term strategy for public data transparency and accountability. Successful candidates will have solid data analysis skills, an understanding of relevant public policy considerations and objectives, familiarity with Facebooks approach to addressing problematic content, and experience communicating effectively with wide variety of stakeholders.

Content Policy Associate Manager, Transparency, Data, and Accountability Responsibilities

* Work with the Content Regulation team to help shape Facebooks strategic approach to data-driven content regulation.

* Work closely with Facebooks Data Science and Integrity teams to further develop the Community Standards Enforcement Report.

* Identify and help develop new ways of supporting transparency for our community, the public and policy-makers (like our recent reports on tackling COVID misinformation in Europe).

* Support Facebooks public transparency reporting efforts as well as compliance with regulatory transparency reporting commitments.

* Manage and respond to data-related regulatory inquiries.

* Conduct ad-hoc data analysis in support of Facebooks global Public Policy team.

* Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Data Science, Operations, Product, and Legal.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree

* 5+ years of work experience in data analysis or data science

* Experience working in government or at a technology company in a public policy role or conducting data analysis directly in support of public policy work

* Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving experience

* Experience working with teams across an organization, particularly in the areas of consensus-building and persuasion

* Familiarity with technology policy, media policy, or related areas of expertise

* Knowledge of Facebook products and policies

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarity with SQL, Presto, Python, R, and/or similar

* MS, MPP, MBA, JD, or other relevant advanced degree

* Experience with international Internet/social media content issues
