Product Manager, Adaptive Experimentation

Job Description

Experimentation lies at the heart of all this: it is an essential part of the product development process, driving product decisions large and small. Facebook is seeking a Product Manager to join the Adaptive Experimentation team. The mission of the team is to push the boundaries of research in decision making under uncertainty, with application to emerging areas for AI research, such as hardware design, infrastructure optimization, and causal inference. Its team members are famous for being among the best in the world, and regularly keynote leading industry conferences in these areas. As a mixed research and engineering team, team members work collaboratively with one another to partner with teams across Facebook to take cutting edge research into products and solutions that are accessible to developers across Facebook (including Instagram, Facebook Reality Labs, WhatsApp) and through open source software tools such as Ax and BoTorch. Applications include automating A/B tests, computational hardware design, AutoML, multi-objective optimization of ranking algorithms, contextual decision-making for infrastructure, and causal machine learning.

Product Manager, Adaptive Experimentation Responsibilities

* Display strong leadership, organizational and execution skills.

* Is the primary driver for identifying significant opportunities, and driving product vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals.

* Ability to incorporate data and research to inform product strategies and roadmaps.

* Leads and motivates a team of engineers and other cross-functional representatives, and maintains team health.

* Understand Facebooks strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.

Minimum Qualifications

* 5+ years product management experience, with 2+ years in Data Products, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence or related technical experience

* Experience driving projects with cross-functional colleagues

* Foundational knowledge of statistical concepts, analytical techniques, and the scientific method

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with MAB Testing (multi-armed bandit testing)

* Experience prioritizing, managing, and executing against multiple products simultaneously in various stages of lifecycle from conception to growth

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills that help bring together stakeholders across functions, teams, and goals
