Job Description

Facebook seeks a highly-motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Company Records Management Specialist. The position is located in the eDiscovery & Information Governance Team within Facebooks Legal Department. The ideal candidate is an experienced records professional who can work closely with teams throughout Facebook to guide and advise on records management issues and the information management lifecycle. The Company Records Management Specialist will work with partners across the company to support records retention and disposition needs, as well as play a key role in developing records management policies, retention schedules, file plans, best practices, training material, and procedural documentation. The ideal candidate is a specialist with records management experience and a natural communicator who will have the opportunity to work with legal and business partners to develop world-class and cutting-edge solutions to records management challenges. The candidate should have an intellectual curiosity and a desire to invest time and energy into learning and growing as a subject matter expert. The candidate should have the ability to work proactively with teams to build consensus across the organization, including legal, IT and security. In addition, proven judgment and comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment is required.

Company Records Management Specialist Responsibilities

* Apply records management knowledge, principles, practices, and experience when partnering with in-house and outside counsel on active litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters

* Meaningfully contribute to and execute strategic plans for records management company wide

* Manage the execution of a global records inventory, policy, retention schedule, file plan, and training in accordance with company policies, obligations, and procedures

* Implement strategies and workflows for managing global records throughout the records lifecycle, including the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposition of records

* Develop efficient and systematic processes for capturing and maintaining evidence of and information relating to business activities

* Maintain working knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory records obligations

* Rapidly identify, analyze, and address complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple and concise communication in cross-functional settings

* Work collaboratively with the eDiscovery and Information Governance team, as well as case and policy teams, business partners, outside counsel, and vendors

* Assist with vendor and records management tool evaluation and selection

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree

* 5+ years of records management experience

* Experience drafting, publishing, and updating records management policies, retention schedules, file plans, best practices, training material, and procedural documentation

* Experience managing electronic records and complex data projects involving structured and unstructured data, as well as implementing records management industry standards

* Experience with records management technology and tools

* Experience communicating with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, and policy teams, and working cross-functionally across a company

Preferred Qualifications

* In-house technology company experience and experience adapting quickly in diverse, evolving environments

* Experience using collaborative tools and records management systems, such as G Suite and O365, and reporting or data visualization tools, such as Tableau

* Experience with ISO 15489

* Strategic thinking with analytical and problem-solving experience

* Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
