Sr. Buyer - Nekoosa Mill

Purpose:

Reporting to Mill Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for procurement of materials, equipment and contracted services to support operations and maintenance activities for the Nekoosa Mill. This includes establishing vendor contacts, vendor qualification, negotiating purchases, and ensuring vendor compliance with facility requirements. Additional duties include assisting with fulfilling the Purchasing requirements of reliability work, stores enhancements (such as kit & deliver), RFP process leader, establishment of contractor agreements and contracts.

Job Responsibilities:

* Support day-to-day needs of maintenance and operations teams on procurement of parts and services
* Collaborate with maintenance, operations and purchasing team to develop and distribute RFPs to qualified suppliers
* Ability to evaluate supplier proposals and make recommendations to the business
* Negotiate delivery dates, terms, pricing, etc. with suppliers
* Support mill in supplier interactions related to safety, quality or performance issues
* Work to develop contracts and agreements with key suppliers
* Support Project Managers on capital projects and major outage work with contractor negotiations, walk-thru and bid assistance
* Serve as mill point-of-contact for vendor qualification program
* Support Mill and Corporate Cost Savings initiatives through participation and leadership on various local and companywide teams
* Adherence to all local and Corporate Purchasing policies & procedures
* Weekend Duty rotation to support emergency mill purchasing needs
* Provide back-up support and coverage for procurement of raw materials and storeroom and indirect parts purchases
* Other Projects and Duties as assigned

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment meeting various deadlines and driving initiatives forward

Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field, preferred
* 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment
* CPSM Certification a plus
* Above average ERP (SAP preferred) experience as well as strong excel skills
