We are currently searching for a Senior Staff Hardware/Software Test Development Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a Senior Staff Hardware/Software Test Development Engineer in Collins Aerospace Test Engineering you will join project execution teams. Here you will be given hardware and/or software tasks developing product tests for a variety of Collins Aerospace products. If you dont want to be limited to only hardware or software engineering this position is for you, as knowledge of both are essential to this position. Collins Aerospace takes pride in developing great talent so each new hire will be assigned a mentor to help support learning and development.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments.

* Capture, analyze, decompose and translate requirements for production test solutions.

* Design, test, integrate and document production test solutions of moderate to high complexity.

* Lead the assigned projects to achieve quality solutions under moderate or indirect supervision.

* Coach and train junior members of the team.

* Responsible for adherence to defined processes, project cost and schedule requirements.

* Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers.

* Highly motivated and possess effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills.

* Knowledge of additional programming languages, C/C++/C, are a plus.

* Excellent time management skills - ability to multitask and delegate work to support technicians, engineering project assistants and peers.

* Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)

* Design and implement activities required to deploy the project test solutions to world-wide destinations.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

* Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

* In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

* RF and GPS experience is a plus.
