ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Technology, Software and Services organization is looking for a dynamic and very technical leader to oversee its Dev Ops and Cloud services development teams.

In this role, you will be a part of the Consumer Solutions business unit that is responsible for consumer products sold worldwide under the brands WD, Sandisk and G-Technology and represent over 300 million customers every year.

Our organization has a charter to transform the business through new software experiences, build a consolidated ecosystem of products where content can move freely between devices and services and ultimately to generate a recurring revenue for the organization.

Together with your peers, you will actively contribute to the product roadmap definition and implementation. You will take a critical leadership role in growing the technology organization, through mentoring, hiring, and leading for performance.

You will lead a geographically distributed development team responsible for cloud services implementation for the connected and security software platforms that power our portfolio of consumer solutions.

The ideal candidate for the role has a successful track record of building and leading teams that combine DevOps and Cloud development responsibilities in fast-pace environments with a focus on security, performance and cost optimizations.

The role requires extensive experience with Amazon AWS, DevOps best practices and scaling services for large ecosystems. Your ability to bring new functionality to market will be be a significant driver of growth for the organization.

The ideal candidate will constantly raise the bar; he or she will enjoy mentoring and developing members of the organization, within or outside his or her team. He or she will continuously assess the needs of the organization and will be able to hire the right talents.

Depending on the candidate performance and ability to scale, the role could evolve to include additional engineering responsibilities across the organization. The role would be ideally located in the Bay Area where most of the leadership team is currently located, but we are a remote-friendly organization and would consider making accommodations for the right candidate.

SKILLS:

* 10+ years of experience as a hands-on technical leader in software development
* Extensive experience leading cloud and dev ops organizations
* Highly familiar with Amazon AWS ecosystem, tools and AWS Well Architected framework.
* Highly comfortable leading and growing cross-functional and distributed organizations.
* Passionate about building the right architecture for scale and performance
* Broad technical expertise with an ability to engage with technical staff and peers.
* Track record of shipping disruptive consumer products with emphasis on time to market and quality.
* Experience with service monetization is a significant plus.
* Bachelor in Computer Science is required.
