Apply technical skills, experience and knowledge to identify, evaluate and maintain 3rd party ASIC IP for the Enterprise SSD (eSSD) Development Teams. Work includes:

* Collaboration with ASIC architects to identify and communicate IP requirements to potential 3rd party IP suppliers
* Engagement with the Legal department to set-up the necessary NDAs with 3rd party IP suppliers
* Closely working with the ASIC Chip, Design and Verification leads to maintain the IP releases to the development teams
* Maintaining the IP bug tracking databases

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this technical contributor role, essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties maybe assigned):

* Ability read and comprehend complex technical information from the eSSD ASIC design and architecture teams.
* Work with the eSSD ASIC Development team, Verification team, and ASIC Architects to develop the IP requirement list for potential 3rd party suppliers
* Review 3rd party IP technical documents and evaluate against the IP requirements.
* Ability to interact with technical subject matter experts and interpret the IP functional requirements
* Ability to be a solo-contributor and serve as the technical IP lead for eSSD products.
* Point of Contact for ASIC design, hardware and firmware questions against the 3rd party IP
* Represent eSSD ASIC IP engineering in cross-functional meetings for the life of the product
* Support Procurement on the quarterly check-in for the IP suppliers.
* Develop and maintain a 3rd party IP roadmap for eSSD ASIC/Products
* Perform IP data integrity checks and IP errata quality checks for the major ASIC development milestones.
* Develop the necessary infrastructure and tools to support effective multi-site development

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Able to independently plan tasks/sub-tasks and report progress to peers and management on weekly basis

REQUIRED:

* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
* Proficient in Verilog or VHDL
* Proficient in MS Office (Word and other MS tools).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

* BSEE or MSEE degree from a recognized institution

SKILLS:

* BSEE with 7+ yrs experience.
* MSEE with 6+ yrs experience
* PhD with 3+ yrs experience
* SSD storage experience is a major Plus.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

* Team player work, good communication skills, good in-person interface and openness to needs of others.
