The Vice President, Program Management, provides leadership for large scale Program and Project Management initiatives including oversight of Business Process Management for related business and or clinical workflows.
* Responsible for operational design, development and delivery of current and future initiatives. Directs Project Management staff along with facility and corporate personnel assigned to the initiatives.
* Manages all aspects of programs and projects including: business objective definition, scope, business and clinical workflow management, implementation, result measurement and related project documentation (project plan, status reporting, etc.).
* Coordinates change management messaging across Corporate and Facility C-suites, identifies project personnel and financial requirements, coordinates resource approvals through the Divisional Leadership President and Divisional Senior Vice Presidents, Behavioral Health, as necessary. Program and project initiatives are focused on improving hospital quality, service, cost, revenue and productivity performance.
Qualifications
The Vice President, Program Management should have at least 10 years experience operating in a multi-hospital environment or other large multi-facility organization, to improve performance.
* Preferably a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, alternatively, capable to work with those that have that experience.
* Experience in the development and administration of performance improvement programs and/or project management office practices.
* Knowledge and experience in business and or healthcare / clinical workflow management, including the implementation and on-going utilization of analytical software and or reporting systems sufficient to measure Business Process improvements.
* Experience with benchmarking in the business or healthcare environment.
* Proficiency with statistical analysis software, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Program and Project Management Activities:
* Manages program strategy sessions and assists leadership team in maintaining a portfolio of projects.
* Collaborates with corporate and hospital leaders to identify opportunities for improvement, formulate initiatives, and allocate approved resources to drive enhancements to quality, service, cost, revenue and productivity performance.
* Serves as project leader for assigned projects: defines projects and structures project activities so they can be executed by the assigned project management and hospital personnel.
* Directs breakdown and analysis of various Business or Clinical Processes and ensures new methods are clearly defined, reviewed and implemented as appropriate (current state vs. future state).
* Ensure proper administration of project management activities including meeting agendas/minutes, work plan task management, issues, and action items, escalates risks and issues as necessary, and drives projects to completion.
* Serves as liaison between facility and corporate departments as appropriate.
* Ensures change management messaging is defined and communicated clearly.
* Ensures detailed event planning and management for large project events.
* Travels to facilities as needed in support of project managements responsibilities.
Supports New Business Line Definition and/or Development and Implementation (as assigned):
* Participates with Divisional Leadership President, Behavioral Health in defining new care models that may involve assumption of risk by UHS.
* Defines the required People, Process and Technology functions that would be required to support the required new business line
* Implements and evaluates new business lines.
Administration and Oversight:
* Participates in go forward definition of UHS Program, Portfolio and Project Management functions
* Refines functions to be performed by IT-centric Project Management teams and business-centric Business Process Management teams
* Assists in recruiting and mentoring project management staff
