Maintenance Project Specialist

Shift- Sunday- Thursday-Sunday (every Sunday is required)

12 hour shift 8am-8pm

Functions

To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture

Receive training as required

Perform various task as required/assigned

Description

This position is responsible for general project throughout the plant while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Must be able to use advanced hand tools. Requires: 4+ years experience in industrial construction. Experience in assembling and installing screw conveyors, fabrication and installing carbon and stainless-steel piping, fabricating and installing structural steel, installing mechanical systems. Experience in

carbon, stainless steel, and structural welding. Experience in hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing. Able to read & understand assignments, able to communicate orally & in writing, able to hear/respond to two-way radio, able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, basic knowledge of math, able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment. May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems. Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts. Performs duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motors, motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training. Requirements

* Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered.
* Must have at least 1 year maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
* You must have 6 months of work history with one employer within the past 12 months.
* Must have good verbal and written communication skills
* Must have good oral communication skills to discuss issues with the Maintenance Supervisor
* Must be able to understand information contained in Maintenance manuals.
