This team is responsible to perform sanitation duties to prevent any accumulation of microorganisms from the birds meat, bones, feathers, blood, and any other source of microbes to multiply within work area. Cleans and sanitizes food processing equipment and facilities using chemicals and high-pressure hoses; clean grounds, trash disposal, chemical dispensing, clean around plant as necessary while following Tyson/USDA sanitation/safety specifications and requirements. This position will take some parts and/or small parts off the machine or line, parts will be washed, scrubbed, foamed and sanitized including the machine and the work area. Ensure that every drain is cleaned for continuous flow of water during the production. Ensure that lockout-tagout is applied if necessary and ensure that maintenance is being asked on the areas that only authorized personnel can perform a certain job. Pre-op / checks area before start-up; Sanitation procedure may be asked to be redone as per QCs result of preop inspection. Rinse equipment with high pressure hot water systems. Wipe condensation from overhead structures with a condensation mop. Apply cleaning chemicals to equipment walls, ceilings, floors and drains with a foam or gel tank. Lift parts to tear down/set up equipment or to properly store. Must be willing to work in an environment with extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F; high humidity, slippery and uneven surfaces. Climb ladders / steps to clean overhead areas and bend to clean low areas. Must be willing to work with hazardous chemicals (Caustics/Acids) on a nightly basis; measure, mix and handle them from bulk storage containers. Must be willing to work with others in a team environment and interact with other departments. Team member has an individual responsibility to report all deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Physical Requirements: Sufficient physical capability to lift and carry 70 lbs. occasionally and up to 40 lbs. frequently; up to 50 ft. without assistance. Frequently climb stairs and ladders (up to 20 feet) with a harness and work on an industrial lift that could be up to 40 ft.; tolerate extremes of temperatures, both hot (above 100 degrees) and cold (below 0 degrees).
