Job Summary:
This Managers position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of policies and programs designed to protect the working environment for company properties by region and/or by Line of Business. The position also advocates Corporate Risk Managements philosophy for the Company that risks are managed to their lowest feasible level for personnel and property via health and safety programs. The position will be a point of contact for the various corporate divisions including Legal, Labor Relations, Community/Governmental affairs, Human Resources and Risk Management. The position also acts as in-house counsel on environmental matters pertaining to hazardous materials management, waste management and environmental compliance associated with environmental management statutes and overall sustainability.
Responsibilities:
* Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program maintenance for TWDC regional operations
* Benchmark current capabilities and update/draft/implement new programs as needed. Must work with all Business Units and numerous corporate divisions including: Risk Management, Legal, Labor Relations, Security/Crisis Management, Medical and Human Resources. Conduct EHS surveys for TV and Movie Productions as planned and unplanned work.
* Compliance with regulatory statutes, employee well-being and brand protection
* Advisor for COVID H&S Managers and Corp Real Estate Operations in the areas of Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
* Provides guidance in regular meetings with H&S Managers as well as Operations leaders addressing acute issues as they arise.
* Ensure COVID regulatory and Company policy compliance.
* Loss Prevention, including Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management with partnership /oversee ABC News' and as needed for the Eastern Owned TV safety function(s).
* Work with and/or develop loss prevention program elements and establish an implementation program. Conduct or oversee remote safety audits. Expand use of Learning Management System safety training for broader user groups under East Coast Operations and RM efforts wherever needed. Partners with other EHS positions and allows cross training/rotational safety responsibilities supporting E/C ops, Studio Safety, TV/Motion Pic Production on E/C, Lincoln Square Productions, Theatrical, Washington DC, Toronto and others as identified.
* Compliance with Federal State and Local statutes while building a more efficient EHS program through cross training
* Environmental Health and Safety Subject Matter Expert for Real Estate Design and Delivery, Operations, East Coast.
* Program management with FS&S management. Provide safety/industrial hygiene consultations, training, support and record management.
* Regulatory compliance and FS&S workforce resilience
Basic Qualifications:
* 5 years or more of experience in the safety arena
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
* Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
* Considered a subject matter expert in safety and industrial hygiene
* MS Office familiar
* Management experience
* Proven team builder
* Management of projects over $10,000
* Experience with asbestos abatement projects
* Experience with lead abatement projects
* Experience using direct read air sampling devices
* Ability to travel
* OSHA record keeping experience
* Field of study in Environmental Health and Safety Allied Health Practices and/or Chemistry/Toxicology
Preferred Qualifications:
* 10 years or more experience in the safety arena
* Experience in Risk Management and/or Industrial Hygiene
