How will you make an impact?

The supervisor manages the day-to-day Quality Control activities for the Microbiology department, ensuring the compliance, accuracy and timeliness of specified testing support processes (e.g., sample receiving, method qualification, testing, reporting of results), provides QC microbiology guidance and support throughout the site (e.g. projects, product transfers and regulatory inspections), and ensures all testing support processes and departmental documentation meet corporate and regulatory standards.

What will you do?

* Provide Microbiology technical expertise at the site, within and outside of the Quality Control department. Participates in Health Authority, client and internal audits.
* Develop and maintain site policies and procedures related to microbiology testing, ensuring compliance to corporate and regulatory standards.
* Participate in the investigations of non-conformances in compliance with quality procedures, policies and regulations.
* Oversee trending of microbiology data.
* Represent the Microbiology team in internal and project team meetings.
* Provide support to the Quality Control laboratories and management as required.
* Supervise a team of 6-10 scientists in the Microbiology lab.
* Responsible for 4 x 10 hour shift covering Wednesday through Saturday. Covers 20 hours on every weekend, 52 weeks per year, with at least 10 hours on site and the remainder working remotely or on call.

How will you get here?

Education

* Bachelor2019s degree in Life Sciences or related field is required.

Experience

* 5 or more years of experience in Microbiology labs in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility preferred
* At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience preferred
* The successful candidate must be a subject matter expert for bioburden and kinetic endotoxin testing in a biologics facility.

Equivalency

* Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including manufacturing and laboratory systems and utilities.
* Strong knowledge of Aseptic manufacturing practices and gowning.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
* Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
