Our Supplier Engineers are involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. In this role you will leverage your technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance by driving Raytheon design requirements for manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers, and improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.
Drive program execution of the Supplier Engagement Strategy activities including insuring appropriate budget, manning, schedule and execution. Responsible for the collection and analysis of performance metrics, development of Estimate at Completion (EAC), and variance analysis reporting. Works closely with Engineering and Program Supply Chain counterparts to ensure proper coordination for both engineering and production efforts across the project teams. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
2. Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
3. Ensure product and process capability across the suppliers value stream, including sub-tiers
4. Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the suppliers manufacturing and quality systems
5. Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
6. Manage product non-conformances; Drive root cause and corrective action
7. Provide manufacturing guidance to suppliers
8. Actively participate in program / engineering reviews and change boards
9. Mentoring/training junior SEs, providing back-up support (as needed) to ensure Program success
10. Manage Supplier Engagement Strategy and ensure appropriate levels of SE support for execution
Required Experience, Skills & Education:
* Bachelors Degree required: Bachelors of Science/Bachelors of Arts in one of the following Majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering or related Engineering field
* 6+ years experience to include experience in one or more of the following: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, technical supplier management, and Program/Production Management
* This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
* Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team based setting
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing and process improvements

* Existing Secret Clearance
* Experience with Engineering interpretation of technical documentation
* Experience in requirements and interface development
