Job Description
Come and join the HEDIS Medicaid Data and Reporting Team. The team is looking for a Data Engineer/Analyst to join the National Medicaid Quality Team for analysis, transform, and analytics of member/claims/clinical data for use in HEDIS reporting. This position provides Data Analytics and reporting support to the HEDIS Data and reporting team. We provide primary support to 16 Medicaid health plans, including analytics, data submission, NCQA and State Medicaid HEDIS submissions
Key job components are:
-Key data contact to assigned health plans
-2-3 yrs experience with SQL and HEDIS data extract
-Builds working knowledge of HEDIS supplemental data, it use, and extract creation
-Writes ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
-NCQA HEDIS specification core knowledge preferred Collaborates with data science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
-Exposure to XML
-Builds data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers.
-Experiments with available tools and advises on new tools in order to determine optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case.
-Develops large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs.
-Experience with HEDIS engines preferred
Required Qualifications
Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking ability.
(*) Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams.
(*) 2-3 years of progressively complex related experience.
(*) Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources.
(*) Ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problems.
(*) Experience with SQL or similar.
(*) Knowledge in SQL database architecture.
(*) Experience building data transformation and processing solutions for Load into the HEDIS engine.
(*) Has strong knowledge of large scale search applications and building high volume data pipelines.
(*) Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Healthcare or related discipline.
(*) Working knowledge of HEDIS Data and Data Flows preferred.
(*) Experience interacting with external auditors.
(*) Working knowledge of the yearly HEDIS submission process.
