WHAT YOULL DO
The Systems Integration specialist applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to integrated ensure and verify the design of the subsystems integrated together and function optimally as a system, to provide system solutions, improvements and enhancements to achieve overall systems performance.
In this role the candidate:
* Develops and executes integration test solutions to resolve complex system-level problems.
* Define appropriate test plans and test methods considering potential impact to user needs and system requirements.
* Collaborates with peer and Cross Functional Team to optimize methods and development of test strategies.
* Collaborate with various organizations / disciplines (e.g., software, hardware, test, operations, manufacturing) to ensure system performance and customer expectations are met.
* Participates in system, software, hardware design reviews and test planning reviews to support assessment of performance against design specification; reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions.
The Integrated Systems Test Research & Development (R&D) Systems Integration Specialist writes and executes integration/characterization test cases and verification and validation protocols and writes data summaries for complex system related (i.e., hardware, software, labeling, assays, commodities, etc.). Applies quantitative methods, analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions. Performs troubleshooting to identify and confirm causes behind multiple system functions (i.e., hardware and software, etc.) issues, discrepancies, problems or complaints in accordance with governing procedures. Evaluates technical risks and identifies mitigations and/or recommendations for resolution and management reporting. Proactively identifies opportunities for significant operational process or system level product improvements. Independently manages their assignments and provides resource estimates and related impact of project scope. Candidate may be required to work instrument lab test shifts outside of the normal business hours.
Responsibilities:
The Systems Integration Specialist is responsible for bringing together the component subsystems into one system and ensuring that the subsystems (including hardware, software, and assay) function together as a system. Ensures end-to-end traceability of functionality and product performance requirements.
* Works closely with Systems Engineers to evaluate system performance (requirements), identify potential impact, and plan appropriate integration testing.
* Contributes to multiple projects and design changes in support of investigations.
* Resolves product problems and technical issues
* Ensures systems design and documentation meet all safety and regulatory compliance.
* Writes, executes, and provides technical review of moderately complex system related verification and/or characterization protocols and data packages.
* Works hands-on with software / instrument / platform / assay development background to troubleshoot systems, including robotic liquid handling systems, and automated assay protocols, identify opportunities for quality improvements, provide root causes of complex HW-SW-Assay interaction problems, and communicate test results and corrective recommendations to the team.
* Provides input and recommendations for system level design requirements.
* Applies moderately complex quantitative methods, analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and provides improvements.
* Proactively identifies areas for improvements and implements changes; recommends activity estimate for project planning purposes and responsible for creating project deliverables or leading moderately complex projects.
* Independently troubleshoots multiple issues to determine root cause and proposing possible solutions. Leads investigations of moderately complex issues at system level (hardware, assay, software interaction).
* Apply process and work methodologies by interfacing and communicating system level issues with peers/cross-functional groups.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
* Bachelors degree in Life or Physical Science, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or closely related discipline is preferred.
* 2 years work related experience with degree or sufficient transferable experience to demonstrate functional equivalence to a degree.
* Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
* Good Lab Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice, laboratory duties, PC Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Data representation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with statistical data analysis
* Prior medical device experience: Electro-mechanical, chemical, or biochemical technologies as they pertain to the design, integration, evaluation and commercialization of diagnostic systems.
* Experience implementing various product and process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
