The Raytheon Electronic Warfare Systems Engineering department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a Principal Investigator. This role requires an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness.
Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to the following: technical proposal generation, customer engagement, leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, architecture and technical baseline development, design and development of prototypes for demonstration, collaboration with senior management in business development.
As part of the Advanced Concepts and Technology (ACT) group, the Principal Investigator will focus on tasks which support the revolutionary and evolutionary innovations.
Required Skills:
* Minimum 10 years related system engineering experience in EW or Radar programs including prior leadership experience.
* Minimum 8 years in RF development/research and production for defense applications.
* Excellent Knowledge of RF/Microwave principles and system and subsystem-level analysis methodologies.
* Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present data and explain results to subcontractor, senior level executives and customers.
* Familiarity of the following RF/Microwave concepts & terminology to develop innovative solutions to meet the warfighters needs.
* Prior leadership experience with cross product teams to resolve challenging technical problems in a complex multiple stakeholder environment.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance.
* Occasional business travel is required.
Desired Skills:
* Experience in new business development for advanced technology, including direct customer interface and a familiarity with the DoD Science and Technology community.
* Proposal management, from initial pursuit and capture planning to proposal delivery.
* Knowledge of open systems architectures and digital engineering
* Able to develop near- and long-term IRAD to align with strategy and technology roadmaps.
* Deep understanding of the underlying phenomenology of RF Hardware and Digital Signal Processing.
* Top Secret security clearance and Special Access SAP/SAR.

* Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
Desired Education (including major):
* Masters / Ph.D degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
