About the role
The primary role of the team is to develop, deliver, maintain, upgrade and support internal test infrastructure and test frameworks within Qualcomms Connectivity R&D team based in Cambridge, UK. The team plays a vital role in the introduction of new products, by providing infrastructure which enables their development from first pre-production samples through to mass production.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person, at Senior Engineer level, who is keen to develop a successful career within an innovative technological environment. You would be joining a small innovative multi-skilled team where you would be a significant contributor to the teams success.
This vacancy covers two primary skill areas as below, however, skills diversification is encouraged:
* Board Level Design
* FPGA development
Responsibilities
* System and architectural design
* Writing of design specifications (i.e. Requirements, Functional, Architectural, Test, etc)
* Board Level Design
* PCB Layout Design
* Board Level test solution development and running of test cases
* RTL design development for typically Xilinx FPGAs
* Setup and management of FPGA builds and simulation environments
* Simulation Testbench and testcases design
* Bench level testing (Lab work including analysis and problem solving)
* Working with Drivers developers (Interface specifications, HW/Driver integration and test)
* Sharing technical expertise
Skills and Experience we would love to see
* Excellent Board Level Design skills
* Excellent in System Verilog/Verilog/VHDL design (System Verilog preferred)
* Excellent knowledge of using Xilinx FPGAs and their internal architecture
* Excellent in RTL design for complex modules
* Excellent in RTL verification techniques
* Excellent understanding of architectural considerations and partitioning between hardware and software
* Excellent technical document writing skills
* Excellent HW / Drivers integration skill (Lab debug)
* Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
* Excellent test bench skills
* Excellent Lab skills
Desirable
* Experience of Python as a scripting language
* Familiar with Linux and bash scripting
* Familiar with verification methodologies, UVM/OVM
* Experienced with Xilinx tools (Vivado/ISE) and Verification tools (Cadence IUS/IES preferred)
* Familiar with FPGA 7series architecture
* Experience porting ASIC RTL modules to FPGA
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field
