Personal Care Attendant (non certified)
PLEASE NOTE CHANGES IN CLASS FOR THIS POSITION: Must attend one 8-hour (5 classroom and 3 hour simulation) in the nursing facility under direction of an R.N.
This is a temporary program approved by the State of Florida. Eligible and successful applications may be able to challenge the CNA test upon completion of time.
Duties /Responsibilities Include:
* Make occupied/unoccupied bed
* Pass Fresh Ice/water
* Pass meals/set up trays for Resident
* Check Resident Temps
* Perform 1 person transfers
* Reposition resident in bed/float heels
* Transfer Resident to wheelchair using gait belt
* Use gait belt to assist with ambulation
* Oral Care/dentures (alert residents)
* Provide a bed bath/perineal/catheter care
* Change incontinent brief
* Assist with hearing aids
* Assist resident to bathroom or to the urinal (one person assist)
* Completed Application
* Proof of your High School Diploma or GED
* Valid Photo Identification
* Social Security Card
* Clear FDLE/FBI Background Screen
We will consult the Florida and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults. No one with a felony conviction, certain misdemeanor charges, and/or found on the abuse registry can be admitted to the class.
No facial piercings are to be worn to class except for earrings by female students.
A watch with a second hand or seconds counter is required for class. Lunch is available daily at the center for $3.00.
If you have been accepted into the class, you will receive be notified by phone. Please DO NOT call the facility to check on the status of your acceptance.
Employment with The Manor at Blue Water Bay is not guaranteed. Students are chosen based on the facility need, shift availability of the candidate, entrance exam score, flexibility of the candidate, previous work history and attitude. The best qualified candidates for the class will be chosen. It is not based on those who applied first or last on application day.
