Job Description

Main function of this project position is to assist in the design and execution of projects assigned by the department manager or quality engineer. A high level of competency in standard test methods is expected in order to assist in the training of new technicians and to provide occasional lab coverage. Major emphasis is placed on instrumental analysis (both routine and special) as well as equipment maintenance. Knowledge and experience working with rubber-to-metal, epoxy, acrylic and urethane adhesives is necessary.

* Perform instrumental analysis (both standard and special).
* Perform raw material, chemical, intermediate, and final product testing.
* Responsible for the disposition of products meeting specifications and direct out-of-spec materials to the appropriate staff member.
* Participate in problem solving exercises which include the use of root cause/corrective action methodologies.
* Lead team based as well as individually led continuous improvement projects, as assigned.
* Ensure that the Product Retain System is being maintained.
* Handle hazardous waste to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.

WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
* Academic and/or industrial lab experience. EDUCATION REQUIRED
* High school diploma PREFERRED
* Science based Associates or Bachelors degree
