Requisition Summary
The DevOps Software Engineer provides strategy and implementation services that enable Operations to achieve substantial cost reduction and business agility benefits through the use of DevOps and continuous delivery processes. The DevOps Software Engineer is responsible for technical leadership and delivery in our DevOps consulting engagements. The engineer assists in the development of enterprise DevOps strategies and leads parts of all of the automated application build and deployment process. Must have strong problem solving abilities, be able to work both at high and low levels of detail, have excellent communication skills and have experience successfully leading implementation teams. This position will establish a reputation of strong technical product owner within the team and demonstrate influence at all necessary levels. Must have a software developer background and experience.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
* Work with System Engineers, Developers, Architects, and DevOps engineers to design and implement automated solutions with CI/CD Pipelines for infrastructure and software build, deployment, and configuration.
* Possess strong RESTful API design, including API versioning, backwards compatibility, and authentication.
* Contribute towards automation/configuration management using Docker, Ansible, Terraform, or an equivalent.
* Maintain code and scripting version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around infrastructure as code.
* Be a technical resource for merge requests, assisting others in writing scripts, and answer questions about use of the infrastructure.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with the build, deployment, and continuous integration process.
* Leverage scripting languages to build automated solutions and integrations on an ad-hoc basis. Languages often include PowerShell, BASH, Perl and Python across both Windows and Linux systems.

Qualifications
* A Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent is required.
* Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
* Design software and write/review code in C/Python/Java.
* Practiced in Predictive Reasoning about Complex and Distributed Systems.
* 3+ years of DevOps experience.
* Polyglot philosophy. Ability to code in various languages such as Python.
* Experience Configuring and Managing Infrastructure Components.
* Experience with Systems Analysis and Triage.
* Experience with Azure or other Cloud Services highly preferred.
Education
A Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent is required.
