Northrop Grumman AerospaceSystems has an opening for a Manager of General Manufacturing 1 to join ourteam of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located inPalmdale, CA.
The selected candidate has theresponsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the manufacturingactivities of a given cost center within restricted programs, includingquality, cost and schedule objectives and factory accountability along with otherduties.
Essential Functions:
* Providing direction andcoaching to technicians and other production personnel in the assembly andmanufacturing areas.
* Ensures team members receivethe required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overallprogram objectives.
* Encourages and providesdirection for career development of employees, including educational optionsfor highly motivated employees.
* Provides leadership/directionto ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for processimprovements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported. The selected candidate shouldthrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantlydiverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* A minimum of a High School Diploma AND 2 years experience within a related industry environment
* 6 months of previous leadership or supervisory experience
* An active Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance granted or having a review within 5 years and the ability to obtain Special Program Access
* Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel amp; PowerPoint) and the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of leadership
* Must be available to work any shift

* Bachelor's Degree

* Supervisory experience in aerospace or related industry
