Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, California.

The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between the Affordability team and other teams. Candidate must be comfortable interfacing and collaborating with all levels of employees. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

* Overseeing and managing the operational aspects of new and ongoing projects to support program affordability.
* Work side by side with the Affordability Program Manager on all program reporting and executive level presentations.
* Capturing, tracking, and managing meeting action items to closure.
* Creating, maintaining, and updating meeting attendance lists and rhythm.
* Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of tools/templates for monitoring project progress.
* Tracking status of trade studies and cost reduction initiatives through coordination with project owners.
* Reviewing affordability initiative submittals for completeness and clarity of content.
* Interfacing with Cost Management to verify initiatives have a sound business case.
* Assessing project issues and assisting in developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree and 3 years of project management/relatedindustry experience or Master's degree and 1 year of project management/relatedindustry experience.
* Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously

* Microsoft Office skills (Power Point, Word, Excel)
* Active Secret DoD Clearance that was granted or renewedwithin the last 6 years
* The ability to obtain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

* Aerospace Manufacturing and/or Aerospace Engineeringknowledge
* Previous Project Management (or similar)knowledge/experience
* Knowledge of Project Management principles andexperience, ability to utilize them professionally
* Practice in implementing Lean/Agile principles andmethodologies
* Experience using SharePoint
