Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Project Management/Principal Project Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, California.
Project Manager is to oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management with a focus on change and technical integration of complex issues as well as how our solutions affect our program costs and schedules. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Essential Functions:
* Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
* Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
* Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
* Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
* Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations.
Qualification

Basic Qualifications for Project Management:
* Bachelor 39;s Degree and 3 years of project management/related industry experience or Master 39;s Degree and 1 year of project management/related industry experience
* Active Secret DoD Clearance that was granted or renewed within the last 6 years
* The ability to obtain Special Program Access
Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management:
* Bachelor 39;s Degree and 6 years of project management/related industry experience or Master 39;s Degree and 4 years of project management/related industry experience
* Active DoD Secret Clearance that was granted or renewed within the last 6 years
* The ability to obtain Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications:
* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar.
* Program/Project management experience including Change Management, Risk and Opportunity Management and Change Proposal processes.
* Excellent communication, analysis and problem solving skills and Strong interpersonal skills.
* Current Special Programs Access
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)
