Job Description

SUMMARY

The Plant Controller will manage and oversee the companys general accounting functions including, but not limited to: month and quarter-end close, preparation and analysis of financial reports, cash forecasting, journal entries, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliation, inventory, intercompany transactions, and GAAP/SOX compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Create and support processes to ensure that general ledger team meets required NOV deadlines while in compliance with GAAP and other NOV policies.

* Review and approve SOX compliant documentation for all activities.

* Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and analysis.

* Perform annual cost roll in ERP after working with operations to understand causes of production variances.

* Coordinate with various departments A/P, A/R, Credit & Collections, Cash Applications, Tax, Legal, HSE, Quality, Production.

* Provide recommendations to Operations based on financial analysis.

* Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

* Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.

* Drive effective accounting solutions that improve the companys standard of excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance.

* MBA/CPA is a plus.

* 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting. Experience in a supervisory role preferred.

* Strong understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting concepts and principles; background in strengthening the internal control environment.

* Experience with manufacturing and standard cost accounting preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND APTITUDE

* High level of business acumen needs to be a partner to the leadership team and a strategic thinker.

* Critical thinking with an ability to mitigate risk for the business while providing solutions to allow the business to move forward towards objectives.

* Must be independent and able to work in a team-based environment to meet monthly deadlines and goals.

* Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and oral) skills, problem solving skills, and keen attention to detail.

* Ability to indirectly or directly manage/lead employees other than direct subordinates

* Willing to work the hours necessary to enable the business to continually exceed expectations.

* Ability to juggle several time-sensitive projects simultaneously.

* Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

* Previous ERP experience required (Oracle, SAP, SyteLine, etc.).

* Exposure to HFM and Smartview is a preferred.
