The Opportunity

The Product Owner Associate for Ally Auto's Document Management platform will support product definition and delivery phases for customer facing correspondence. The Product Owner will consult and collaborate with the Product Owner Leadership team is Accountable for the overall success of the product. Your focus will be on WHAT the organization is trying to accomplish and the value that is needed. This role will lead a scrum team to drive new correspondence, manage existing documents and mitigate risk through development and quality assurance. The Product Owner will play a key role in the cross-functional software delivery team.

As a contributor to efficient, lean-agile planning and delivery, the Product Development Associate enables high-quality technology solutions by coordinating stakeholders, experienced Document Management analysts and developers to drive product design, definition and testing. The Product Owner will be collaborative, a strategic thinker, visionary for the broader platform solution and able to solution or make hard choices following the agile delivery methodology. You will need to understand the value and risk associated to the correspondence being delivered and lead by breaking down high-level initiative and solution requirements into detailed features for execution by delivery teams.

The Work Itself

* Collaborates effectively with stakeholders and Document Management Leadership team to drive, plan and transform strategies to deliverable and executable tasks for the team
* Verify that all business requirements are dispositioned into stories with accurate and comprehensive acceptance criteria
* Ensure all regulatory and/or risk related details are defined and documented within product value
* Ensure timely completion of epics and stories
* Partner with cross-functional teammates to fully understand business processes, rules and logic and translate into detailed system design requirements
* Bring business process knowledge to the delivery team
* Perform administrative maintenance to effectively prioritize (groom) Document Management product backlog
* In collaboration with the Scrum Master, co-leads the planning process -- prioritizing the work that needs to be done against internal and external stakeholder feedback
* Effective socialization of schedule, backlog and priorities to all impacted partners and the team; negotiate sprint scope
* Support Business Analysts to refine user stories; participates in 3 Amigos sessions to contribute to successful story refinement when support is requested or required
* Verify stories are done based on acceptance criteria
* Contribute to team standups and retrospectives
* Provide support and guidance to ensure timely and accurate completion of Quality Assurance testing efforts
* Ability to estimate work, commit and deliver on deadlines and be vocal when risks arise
* Partner effectively as the Product Owner Associate of an agile squad, including learning and sharing best practices with other team members (business analysts, developers, scrum manager) to develop a best in class experience

The Skills You Bring

* Strong agile and/or project management skills; experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred
* Relative experience in Auto Financing
* High-performing self-starter, with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
* Demonstrates analytical skills and technical acumen; baseline knowledge of how software systems and application components work together; able to navigate technology, architectural and software development considerations confidently
* Strong communication and partnership skills; able to collaborate through complex problems or challenge assumptions giving and receiving feedback respectfully
* Ability to estimate work, commit and deliver on deadlines and be vocal when risks arise
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to leadership & business partners
* Demonstrated success working under pressure in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
* Experience working with JIRA, qTest, MS Office suite is preferred
