Work Hours/Shift:

* Full Time Day Shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

* Provides direction for the Education activities, services, programs, and plans.
* Develops, updates and recommends the policies and procedures for delivery of educational training and orientation to staff and volunteers to comply with mandated regulations and organizational goals.
* Monitors and evaluates clinical practice and identifies growth needs of the clinical staff. Implements and evaluates a plan to address clinical staff, growth and development needs through continuing education training to clinical staff and as mandated by the state, federal government and the organization as a requirement for employment. Coordinates guest instructors when training focus is outside the educators expertise.
* Identified problematic systems/process issues, develops plans to improve and monitors outcomes. Develops/implements process improvement and/or clinical best practice initiatives at the organizational and department level. Acts as a change agent, evaluates environment for change readiness and develops and implements plans for change using research and evidence based practice. Monitors change driven outcomes.
* Serves as the educational resource to management team and participates to assess procedure, technique and quality and develops and implements plans for process improvement.
* Ensures proper and timely orientation of all new staff.

Qualifications

A. Education and Training: Masters degree in training and development or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Administrator.

B. Experience: A minimum of 7 years in training and development or related field is required. In addition, a minimum of 1 year(s) supervisory experience is required. Healthcare experience, preferred.

C. Certificates and Licenses Required: A clear/active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license is required. Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing Certification is preferred.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for providing clinical expertise in hospice to optimize patient/family, nurse and system outcomes and is responsible for the management of the development and delivery of the internal educational programs for the organization including orientation and continuing education.
