Basic Job Functions:
The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of electrical principles and practical experience as it relates to the electrical maintenance function. The technician will provide electrical support to the production crews, and maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation systems. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate commitment to safety in all aspect of jobs.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in industrial maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Good understanding of overall maintenance process and electrical principles.
* Knowledge of PID/closed loop control systems
* Networking tools and standards
* HMI programming and troubleshooting
* PLCs system building, programming and troubleshooting experience
* Variable Frequency Drive experience
* Ability to interpret electrical schematics for installation, repair, and maintaining equipment
* Basic pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge

This segment sells its products to steel service centers, fabricators, and manufacturers in automotive, energy, agricultural, heavy equipment, and transportation sectors. The Steel Products segment offers hollow structural section steel tubing products, electrical conduits, steel joists and joist girders, steel decks, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel products, cold finished steel products, steel fasteners, metal building systems, steel grating and expanded metal products, and wire and wire mesh products to general contractors, fabricators, distributors, and manufacturers.
This segment also engages in the piling distribution business. The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
