Summary:

First Alert is seeking a Product Owner in our corporate headquarters based out of Aurora, Illinois. This position is responsible for defining and supporting profitable product solution platforms for the security categories. The Product Owner will work cross functionally to ensure the product solutions are developed to the feature and price specifications that each target consumer segment demands, owning product definition and requirements and ensuring that as the project goes through execution these are met. They will also be responsible for communicating and documenting any changes that need to occur as a result of strategy or competitive landscape market shifts.


Responsibilities:

Develops a vision and strategy for Security product categories.

Develops and drives execution of product plans to create robust product pipeline aligned with brand vision.

Contributes to the development of product innovation pipeline grounded on consumer needs and pain points.

Accomplishes product development results and meets timelines through strong cross-functional relationships and leadership (with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, DA, Brand and Trade teams).

Accelerates time-to-market while adhering to the end to end development process.

Leads cross-functional reviews to bring concepts from ideation stage to production, escalate concerns and gain alignment.

Coordinates activities with commercial teams to ensure cost and quality metrics are met to hit and/or exceed targets.

Develops and helps execute measures to simplify platforms and align future product plans with the larger organizational strategy.

Leverages market research to drive fact-based, consumer-centric decisions that support our brand leadership positioning as it relates to product development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, or related discipline.

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.

Jira Software/Confluence experience a plus

3 plus years of relevant experience in product management/ownership.

Experience in project management, developing product strategy, business cases and competitive analysis.

Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Excellent communication skills. Ability to influence and align cross functional team members to achieve business goals.

Consumer electronics industry experience a plus

CPG experience is a plus.

Ability to multitask and deliver projects in a timely manner.

Passion for working in a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

An entrepreneurial spirit that is energetic, positive and resourceful.
